Las Vegas Travel & Activities

You already know Vegas Uncork’d is the ultimate destination to satisfy your taste buds – so much so, in fact, that it’s likely to make your other senses jealous.

Fortunately, Las Vegas has everything to stimulate those, too. With bright lights, world-class shopping and amazing entertainment that you won’t find anywhere else, Vegas offers plenty to see and hear. The soothing luxury spas, fabulous pools, championship golf courses and other outdoor activities provide the dessert for your full course Las Vegas experience.

Here’s a sample of some of the excitement that awaits you:

Shows & Events

No city can match the constant stream of entertainment in Las Vegas, and that includes several amazing resident shows. The Colosseum at Caesars Palace plays host to three musical icons -- The Divine Miss M, Bette Midler, stars in The Showgirl Must Go On, Sir Elton John plays his greatest hits in The Red Piano and Cher’s 90-minute production features lavish costumes, the latest stage technology and breathtaking choreography.

The graceful acrobatics of Cirque du Soleil are also on display in several Las Vegas production spectacles. Watch aquatic artistry in O at Bellagio or enjoy the pageantry of Le Reve at Wynn Las Vegas and KA at MGM Grand.

Vegas can quench your thirst for Broadway, too. Catch the highly acclaimed Phantom – the Las Vegas Spectacular at The Venetian or follow the rags-to-riches story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons with Jersey Boys next door at Palazzo. Broadway-scale musical and top music headliners are all around town – check out VisitLasVegas.com for more details.

Shopping

If you want it, you can find it here -- Las Vegas has developed into a one-stop shopping Mecca, with everything from souvenir shops to haute couture boutiques.

Check out Town Square Las Vegas on the south end of Las Vegas Boulevard. With more than 150 retail stores and 12 restaurants, Town Square Las Vegas is an open-air center featuring 22 buildings detailing a collage of Old World and contemporary architectural styles, along with pedestrian-friendly streets and lushly landscaped walkways.

Also on the Strip, great shopping is always in fashion at the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood, the Forum Shops at Caesars, the Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian, Shoppes at The Palazzo, Via Bellagio, Wynn Esplanade and Mandalay Place.

Looking for bargains? With 150 designer and name brand outlet stores, be sure to head downtown and check out Las Vegas Premium Outlets.

Spas

Las Vegas is home to more than 45 unique and relaxing luxury spas, making it easy to find your favorite retreat for relaxation and rejuvenation.

Escape the heat in Qua Baths and Spa’s Arctic Ice Room at Caesars Palace, where you can relax in the "snow" – in the form of mint-infused air falling from a domed ceiling at 55 degrees.  It's the coolest spa treatment you’ll ever enjoy, and it’s only in Vegas. Or check out the the Palms Place Pool & Spa, which combines the cultural histories of Turkey, Tunisia, Morocco and Spain and is the first spa in Las Vegas to offer a hammam – a traditional Turkish bath.

Other refreshing and invigorating signature treatments can be found at the Adventure Spa at Red Rock Resort, the Canyon Ranch Spa at the Venetian, WET, The Spa at TI and the Aquae Sulis Spa at the J.W. Marriott.

Pools

Las Vegas’ fabulous pools are the perfect appetizer, whether you just want to catch a few rays or join in on some of the most exciting poolside parties anywhere.

One of the first pools to introduce European-style sunbathing to Las Vegas, Moorea Beach Club at Mandalay Bay, is still beaconing sun worshipers. Also offering this poolside perk to visitors are the GO Pool at Flamingo Las Vegas and BARE at The Mirage, which also invite guests to let go of their inhibitions and say goodbye to those pesky tan lines. Wet Republic, a 53,000-square-foot ultra pool at MGM Grand, features the only two saltwater pools on The Strip.

Other great pool parties can be found at TAO Beach, on the roof of TAO Nightclub atThe Venetian, the Palms Pool & Bungalows, and the Hard Rock Pool and Beach Club.

Golf

Is golf your game? Las Vegas is one place where every course is a full meal – the city globally recognized for both the abundance and the quality of its golf courses. There are more than 60 courses within a one-hour radius of the city, each with its own singular character and set of attributes, and many designed by the top names in the sport, from Nicklaus, Fazio and Dye, to Jones, Casper and Palmer.

Las Vegas boasts a number of courses that are truly unique to the destination, starting with Wynn Las Vegas, the only resort golf course on the Las Vegas Strip. This 18-hole on-site championship golf course, designed by Tom Fazio and Steve Wynn, includes a 35-foot waterfall and a man-made mountain that provides the ultimate in privacy.

Outdoor activities

After enjoying fine cuisine indoors, enjoy some of the beautiful outdoors -- the historic Hoover Dam and scenic Red Rock Canyon are within reach of the Las Vegas Valley, along with great hiking at the Valley of Fire.
